Conversion rate optimization starts with measurement

Every A/B test, every funnel analysis and every CRO roadmap is only as good as the data under it. If your conversions are counted differently in each market, or half of them never arrive, you are optimizing a guess.

What we do and what we do not.

Web Wombats does not design landing pages or run test programs. We build the measurement layer that conversion rate optimization depends on, so your CRO team or agency tests on numbers that hold up. That is usually the part nobody owns.

Where CRO data usually breaks.

Funnel steps: Product view, add to cart, checkout and purchase are tracked with different names or triggers per market, so the same funnel cannot be compared between countries.

Consent: Only visitors who accept tracking show up in your analytics. If acceptance differs between test variants or markets, the result can lean one way for reasons that have nothing to do with the design.

Revenue: The testing tool, GA4 and the shop report different revenue for the same orders. A winning variant is declared on numbers finance would not sign.

Test exposure: Which visitor saw which variant never reaches analytics or the warehouse, so nobody can check results later or segment them.

What a measurement-first CRO setup includes.

funnel specone definition for every step, the same in every market
experiment eventstest and variant sent to GA4 and BigQuery with every exposure
consent checkconsent rates per market and variant, so bias is visible
revenue matchtest revenue reconciled with the shop before a winner is called
monitoringalerts when a release breaks a funnel event

How it fits with your CRO partner.

We work next to whoever runs your tests, in-house or agency. We own the data layer, the tag setup and the event spec; they own hypotheses, design and test plans. Most CRO teams are glad when someone else makes sure the numbers are right.

For brands in several markets this also unlocks something simple: a test that wins in one market can be checked in another, because both measure the same thing.

Where to start.

Check the base first. The free tracking score shows in 30 seconds how your consent, tag setup and markets look from the outside. For the full picture, the funnel and revenue checks are part of our audit.

Questions about CRO and measurement.

Do you run A/B tests?

No. We make sure the tests your team runs are measured correctly, in every market, and that the results match your shop data.

Which testing tools do you work with?

The common ones, for example AB Tasty, Optimizely, VWO or Kameleoon. What matters is that exposure and conversion data reach your analytics and warehouse in a consistent format.

Why does consent matter for A/B tests?

Your analytics only sees visitors who accepted tracking. If that share differs between variants or markets, the measured result can differ from the real one. We make that share visible so you can judge it.

Is GA4 enough for CRO analysis?

For a quick look, often yes. For reliable test evaluation across markets, the raw data in BigQuery is the better base, because you control the definitions.
